Recreation
B.C. offers many recreation opportunities and British Columbians love to be active. The B.C. government even has a website (ActNowBC) dedicated to healthy living and activity.
B.C. Parks
With almost 12 million hectares of protected lands, British Columbia has unparalleled access to wilderness, parks, protected areas and recreation areas. British Columbia is committed to protecting the environment.
Recreation Centres and Organized Sports
Communities across B.C. have recreation centres, YMCAs and parks, where the public can use the swimming pools, skating rinks, weight rooms and tennis and badminton courts. Many also offer fitness and activity programs, which are a great way to get to know your neighbours. Local government offices will have contact information for the recreation centres in your community.
