BCSAP SERVICE PROVIDER TRAINING INITIATIVES
BCSAP TRAINING FRAMEWORK
In order to improve the consistency of settlement service delivery in B.C., a training framework (February 2007) was created. The British Columbia Settlement and Adaptation Program (BCSAP) Training Framework report provides findings and recommendations for training and professional development for settlement service workers in B.C.
The report recommends a co-ordinated, competency-based, in-service training and professional development approach for settlement service workers. It supports a process of staff development for improving the performance of workers, designed to strengthen their competencies while they are on the job.
The framework outlines the vision, purpose, goals, collaborative partners, and roles and responsibilities associated with the various entities required to implement and sustain the in-service training and professional development system.

BCSAP OCCUPATIONAL COMPETENCIES
The Occupational Competencies Framework was compiled in 2008 for staff providing services to immigrant and multicultural populations. The Competency Framework provides a comprehensive picture of the skills and knowledge that Settlement, Multicultural and Language Service Workers have in common.

BCSAP TRAINING AUDIT DATABASE
The Training Audit Database is a database of training resources and content expertise on topics of interest to the immigrant-serving sector. The initial information in the database was collected by a research team looking at relevant training resources across Canada.
The database has been designed for and is available to BCSAP funded Service Providers only. If you are a BCSAP Service Provider, please contact the Immigration and WelcomeBC Branch for password and login information at IWBC@gov.bc.ca.
If you or your organization would like to be included in the database as content experts or you would like to submit information about training relevant to BCSAP staff, please email IWBC@gov.bc.ca and inquire about submitting information to the database.
The information included in this database is for research purposes only. The training resources and content expertise have not been evaluated or endorsed by the B.C. Government.
