The Nechako region stretches from the B.C.–Yukon border in the north down to the central Lakes District of the province and is separated from the northeastern section of the province by the Rocky Mountain Trench. It is an area of vast and remote wilderness that includes mountains, glaciers, valleys, and plateaus. This makes it popular with outdoor enthusiasts and those who enjoy rural living.
Natural resources have historically played a critical role in the area's economy, which also includes forestry and logging with support activities, transportation and warehousing, health care and social assistance, construction, and retail trade.

Community Description:
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako needs entrepreneurs to establish agriculture businesses that support regional food security, or manufacturing businesses that increase diversity within the forestry industry and include value-added production.
Prices for land in Bulkley-Nechako are very affordable, making it an advantageous area to live and work. In addition, building permit processing times are short, especially when compared to larger urban centers.
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has a myriad of outdoor recreation activities, and all the benefits of four distinct seasons. Its small, friendly communities are welcoming, and residents enjoy a wonderful work-life balance.
