Seniors' programs

British Columbia offers many programs and resources to help seniors enjoy life and join activities in their communities.

  • Find resources for living a healthy and active life at SeniorsBC.ca. Seniors’ families and caregivers will find helpful information here, too. The website has information about housing and health, as well as caring for seniors. You’ll also find information about government and community programs.
  • You can also get the BC Seniors’ Guide in English, French, Chinese and Punjabi. In print or PDF, it gives information and resources for seniors and their families.
  • A seniors’ centre can help you or a family member meet friends, volunteer in the community, enjoy activities like painting or join travel groups. You can contact a settlement services agency to learn about programs for immigrant seniors in your neighbourhood.
  • The Office of the Seniors Advocate lets seniors and their families report concerns about care and can help resolve issues. Phone the Office of the Seniors Advocate toll-free at 1-877-952-3181 or in Victoria at 250-952-3181.
