Visit your local library

Libraries are a great place to borrow books and browse the Internet. They also provide a quiet place to read or study. Libraries also have plenty of useful resources for people who are new to B.C. Here are some things public libraries can provide for you:
  • Thousands of online and print resources, including material you can borrow
  • Free Internet and Wi-Fi access
  • Advice from a professional librarian about books and other materials
  • Free resources to help you learn English through books, videos and online tools (your local library may also host events for you to improve your language skills)
  • Free programs and events to help you settle into B.C.
