For nominees
Last updated: September 10, 2025
The BC PNP offers continued support to applicants who have been successfully nominated by the province ("nominees") until Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reaches a decision on their permanent residency. During this waiting period, nominees may request post-nomination support from the program, which includes requesting for a letter of support for their work permit applications.
To learn more, please see the topics below.
Workers who have been successfully nominated by the BC PNP must submit a permanent residence application to IRCC before the expiry date listed on their Confirmation of Nomination. If, during this period, your work permit has expired, or is about to expire, you may wish to request a Work Permit Support Letter from the BC PNP to support your work permit application.
Please note: you must apply for a work permit to IRCC within three months of your nomination date. The BC PNP cannot apply for a work permit on your behalf.
For more information on how to obtain a work permit, please review the Skills Immigration Post-Nomination Guide.
